Abstract

Hyaluronan (HA, 1) is a linear non-sulfated high molecular weight glycosoaminoglycan (GAG) composed of repeating disaccharide units of β-d-glucuronic acid (GlcA) and N-acetyl glucosamine (GlcNAc) linked by alternating β-(1,3) and β-(1,4) glycosidic linkages ( Fig. 1).
