Diethylene glycol (DEG) is an organic compound with the formula (HOCH2CH2)2O. It is a colorless, practically odorless, poisonous, and hygroscopic liquid with a sweetish taste. It is miscible in water, alcohol, ether, acetone, and ethylene glycol. DEG is a widely used solvent.

1.一缩二乙二醇是环氧乙烷制乙醇时的副产品。 工艺流程: 用直接水合法 将环氧乙烷与水按1:8混合送入混合反应器,在150℃MPa下,反应40-60min,生成脱水塔进一步脱水;塔底的乙二醇混合液送入乙二醇塔,塔顶可得99.8%以上的乙二醇。塔底液送入一缩精馏塔,在塔顶温度135-140℃,压力4.0KPa下,从塔顶得到一缩二乙二醇。继续分离,可得二缩三乙二醇、三缩四乙二醇。 精制方法:所含杂质有水、乙二醇、三甘醇等。可用减压蒸馏后分步结晶的方法精制。取二甘醇1650mL进行减压分馏,弃去480mL初馏分,收集1000mL中间馏分进行分步结晶,可得700mL二甘醇。 2. 与酸酐作用时生成酯,与烷基硫酸酯或卤代烃作用生成醚。 3. 合成:由环氧乙烷与乙二醇作用而制得。也是环氧乙烷水合制乙二醇时的副产品。
