In Vitro | Acute toxicity to limonene is largely due to the common oxidation product limonene-hydroperoxide. The mutant protein AhpCL177Q 35 is able to alleviate this toxicity by reducing the hydroperoxide to a more benign compound[1]. Limonene exerts anti-proliferative action on a lymphoma cell line without modifying normal lymphocyte viability[2]. |
In Vivo | Limonene (50-100 mg/kg) exerts gastroprotection through local mucosal defense mechanisms, such as increasing the mucus production, modulation of the oxidative stress and inflammatory response and inhibition of Nf-κb expression[3]. |

Capturing of the monoterpene olefin limonene produced in Saccharomyces cerevisiae.
Yeast , doi:10.1002/yea.3038, (2014) Monoterpene olefins such as limonene are plant compounds with applications as flavouring and fragrance agents, as solvents and potentially also in polymer and fuel chemistry. We engineered baker's yea... |

Carbopol 934, 940 and Ultrez 10 as viscosity modifiers of palm olein esters based nano-scaled emulsion containing ibuprofen.
Pak. J. Pharm. Sci. 26(1) , 75-83, (2013) Micro-emulsions and sometimes nano-emulsions are well known candidates to deliver drugs locally. However, the poor rheological properties are marginally affecting their acceptance pharmaceutically. Th... |
