Biological Activity

[Description]:

Urocortin, human, a 40-aa neuropeptide, acts as a selective agonist of endogenous CRF2 receptor, with Kis of 0.4, 0.3, and 0.5 nM for hCRF1, rCRF2α and mCRF2β, respectively.

[Target]

Ki: 0.4 nM (hCRF1, cell assay), 0.3 nM (rCRF2α, cell assay), and 0.5 nM (mCRF2β, cell assay)[1]

[In Vitro]

Urocortin, human is a selective agonist of CRF2 receptor, with Kis of 0.4, 0.3, and 0.5 nM for human CRF1, rat CRF2α and mouse CRF2β receptors in cell assay, respectively[1].

[In Vivo]

Urocortin (0.01 to 10 μg) decreases food intake in both food-deprived and non-deprived rats and such a effect also observed in mice after 1 μg of Urocortin i.c.v. administration. Urocortin has the potential of inducing anxiogenic behavior[2].

Therapeutic effects of human urocortin-1, -2 and -3 in intracerebral hemorrhage of rats.

Neuropeptides 52 , 89-96, (2015)

Urocortin exerts neuroprotective effects in intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) of rats. For pre-clinical trial, we intended to study the neuroprotective efficacy of human UCN (hUCN)-1, -2 and -3 in treati...
