L-半胱氨酸配制成二钠盐水溶液，与氯乙酸在焦亚硫酸钠存在下反应，先在20-30℃反应0.5h，再于20℃反应15min，向反应物中加入活性炭，过滤，滤液用浓盐酸酸化至pH2.5，即生成羧甲司坦沉淀，过滤，水洗，真空干燥，即得成品。以L-半胱氨酸计，收率92%。
