法尼醇是一种倍半萜烯醇,可调节白色念珠菌的细胞间通讯。还显示该分子对非白色念珠菌属物种,巴西Paracoccidioides brasiliensis和细菌具有抑制作用。最小抑制浓度(MIC)根据所述的M27-A3方案测定,法尼醇在0.29-150μM的浓度范围内测试。观察到法尼醇对新型隐球菌和C. gattii具有抑制活性(MIC范围：0.29-75.0μM)。虽然法尼醇不会显着改变磷脂酶活性,但观察到降低这种活性的趋势[1]。
