In general, it is well known for metal-catalyzed cyanations that an increased concentration of CN − blocks the active metal center.11 This problem can be circumvented by decreasing the solubility of cyanide in the respective solvent, or by using salts or complexes that deliver CN − slowly, for example, K 4 [Fe(CN) 6 ].
