Use of MK-3281MK-3281 is a potent and orally bioavailable inhibitor of HCV NS5B polymerase with IC50 of 6 nM; MK-3281 is an equally potent inhibitor of gt 1a (EC50=28 nM), 1b BK (EC50=9 nM), and 3a (EC50=37 nM) replicons, shows 2 orders of magnitude less active on 2a (EC50=2018 nM) and 2b (EC50=1833 nM) replicons; demonstrates consistent decrease in viremia in vivo using the chimeric mouse model of HCV infection.
