Abstract

A method based on organodimetallic reagents is described for the regiocontrolled synthesis of indoles which proceeds, generally, in one to two operations from commercially or readily available reactants. The method is applied to the synthesis of indole itself, 2-substituted, 3- substituted, 2, 3-disubstituted and 6-substituted indoles.
