Abstract

Again, the reaction was complex-at least four products were shown to be formed by an examination of a paper chromatogram of the reaction mixture. One of the spots had the same Rad l. 005 as 6-amino-2-chloropurine riboside (IVa). Similar difficulties were observed by Fischer and HelferichlO when they attempted to remove the acetyl blocking groups from 2, 6, 8-trichloro-9-(2', 3', 4', 6'-tetra-0-acetyl-D-glucopyranosyl)-purine.
