Abstract

Polyphenols present in rooibos, a popular herbal tea from Aspalathus linearis, were isolated in two steps. First, phenolic ingredients were separated by multilayer countercurrent chromatography (MLCCC). Preparative high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) was then applied to obtain pure flavonoids.
