Abstract Alkylboronic acids, readily synthesized from a variety of representative terminal alkenes via hydroboration with dibromoborane-methyl sulfide, undergo a facile oxidation with chromium trioxide in 90% aqueous acetic acid to provide carboxylic acids in 80–97%
