Abstract Reactions of isobutene, methylenecyclopentane, methylenecyclohexane and methylenecycloheptane with palladium acetate were studied in acetic acid at 30 to 80. Two types of oxidation were identified: acetoxylation to allylic acetates (methylenecycloheptane) and oxidative coupling to dimers (isobutene and methylenecyclohexane).
