由乙炔氯化制得。反应在四氯乙烷本身为溶剂下进行(气态乙炔和氯直接反应会发生爆炸),催化剂为五氯化锑或三氯化铁。当采用三氯化铁催化剂时,使系统保持负压,四氯乙烷处天回流状态,连续通入干燥的乙炔和氯气,反应热由回流的四氯乙烷蒸气吸收移走,收率为97%(对乙炔)。
