Abstract An efficient, practical, and general method for conversions of N- tosyltetrahydroisoquinolines (N-tosyl-THIQs) into isoquinolines and of N-tosyltetrahydro-β- carbolines (N-tosyl-THBCs) into β-carbolines is described.
