Abstract Reaction of adamantan-1-ol with heptenes in conc. sulfuric acid affords a complicated mixture of hydrocarbons, containing heptyladamantanes, diheptyladamantanes, tetradecyladamantanes, diadamantylheptanes and adamantyl- heptyladamantylheptanes.
