The synthesis of 4(3H)-quinazolinones and their derivatives has attracted considerable attention from organic and medicinal chemists for many years because most of them showed wide pharmacological and therapeutic properties such as antimalarial, antitumor, anticonvulsant, antiinflammatory, and antimicrobial activities [1], [2], [3], [4] and [5].
