Comparison of cd curves with corresponding ultra- violet absorption spectra (Fig. 2 and 3) shows that cd maxima are located at slightly longer wave lengths than the corresponding ultraviolet absorption maxima, Table I. This comparison of cd and absorption spectra permits the uncovering of hidden or overlapping weak absorption bands not detectable by standard ultraviolet spectral technique.
