Moroidin (1) has cytotoxicity to cancer cells with IC50 values of 3.2, 8.3, 9.6, 5.2 and 9.9 μM in A549, H1299, U87, U251 and HCT116 cells, respectively. Moroidin (1) interferes with microtubule polymerization and decreases β-tubulin protein levels in A549 cells. Moroidin (1) arrests the cell cycle in the G2/M phase and induces apoptosis in A549 cells. Moroidin (1) induces A549 cellular apoptosis by the intrinsic mitochondrial pathway. Moroidin (1) represses the migration and invasion of A549 cells[1].
