Biological Activity

[Description]:

4-Hydroxyoxyphenbutazone kills both replicating and nonreplicating (NR) Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Mtb), including Mtb resistant to standard drugs. 4-Hydroxyoxyphenbutazone is a potent inhibitor of cytokine production. 4-Hydroxyoxyphenbutazone is an immunosuppressive drug and has the potential for rheumatoid arthritis research[1][2].

4-Hydroxyoxyphenbutazone 在液体培养物中杀死 R Mtb，存在 0.5% BSA 时 MIC 为 100 μM，在较低 BSA 浓度下 MIC 为 25 μM。4-Hydroxyphenbutazone 的杀菌谱非常窄，对 Mycobacterium smegmatis 的活性较弱 (在缺乏 BSA 的 7H9 中 MIC 为 200 μM)。 4-Hydroxyoxyphenbutazone 对 E. coli 和 S. enterica 等无活性[1]。 4-Hydroxyoxyphenbutazone 有效抑制外周单核细胞 (PBMC) 中的单核因子以及 Th1 和 Th2 淋巴因子[2]。
