Biological Activity

[Description]:

Temafloxacin (TMFX) is a quinolone antimicrobial agent that has a broad antibacterial spectrum against Gram-positive, Gram-negative and anaerobic bacteria[1][2].

[Related Catalog]:

Research Areas >> Infection
Signaling Pathways >> Anti-infection >> Bacterial

[In Vitro]

Temafloxacin has broad antimicrobial activity against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, including improved in vitro activity against Streptococcus pneumoniae, Mycoplasma hominis, and anaerobic bacteria, including Bacteroides fragilis[2].

[In Vivo]

Temafloxacin is a fluoroquinolone with a 7-8 hour half-life and rapid gastrointestinal absorption. With the exception of the central nervous system (CNS), Temafloxacin has excellent tissue and body fluid penetration and concentration[2].
