Abstract
The preparation of several series of unsymmetrical tetraalkylsilanes and one series of mixed symmetrical tctraalkyleilanes by the reaction of the appropriate n-alkylchlorosilane with n- alkyllithium compounds is described. Certain of the physical properties of the products are presented and discussed. Many of the silanes synthesked exhibit extremely wide liquidus range and may be considered representative of a new class of thermally stable fluids.
