Abstract

Abstract An efficient chemoenzymatic route to S-betaxolol is reported. A strain (Rhodotorula mucilaginosa DQ832198) screened from soil was used as biocatalyst for the kinetic resolution of the key acetylated intermediates. Excellent enantiomeric excess (ee> 99%)
