Abstract
Some of the simplest and most versatile surfactants are combinations of linear alkyl and poly (ethylene glycol)(PEG) segments in an AB or ABA pattern, where A represents the alkyl portion and B corresponds to the PEG segment. We are particularly interested in amphiphilic molecules that have an ABA structure because they self-assemble to give ordered solid- state materials10, 11 and serve as models for understanding the ionmolecule complexes ...
