Abstract

Results Gluconobacter and Acetobacter have been well-known to oxidize a variety of primary and secondary alcohols.'Thus, various strains of Gluconobacter were examined by using 2-methylpropane-1, 3-diol (la) as the simplest substrate that has a, w-diol functions with a prochiral center.
