Abstract

At the turn of the century and prior to his discovery of procaine, Einhorn and his associates synthesized a group of alkylaminoacetylaminobenzoates. lJ The clinical use of one of these, methyl 5-diethyIaminoacet ylaminosalicylate (Nirvanine), was discontinued because of its irritating properties.
