Abstract

The substituted benzyl halides are of special importance because of their theoretical interest and because of their suitability for experimental investigation. Since a series of substituted benzyl fluorides had not been prepared previously, a general method for their preparation was sought in order to permit a study of their properties and relative reactivities.
