Abstract

Flavones chemically are anthoxanthins, occur either in the free state or as glycosides associated with tannins (flavanoids). Flavanoids (derivatives of flavone) possess various pharmacological activities and due to its xanthine-oxidase enzyme inhibitory effect it also has superoxide-scavenging activities.
