Abstract

(4) Although the product characterization was rather fragmentary, this reaction has been reported by E. Dane and K. Eder, Ann., 639, 207 (1939).(2) with cyclopeiitenone (I), partial equilibration of the expected, kinetically favored isomer 45 with its epimer 5 was observed, the equilibration being more nearly complete at higher temperatures.
