Abstract

Plakoridines A and B (1 and 2) are two unusual, heterocyclic natural products which were isolated during the last decade from Okinawan marine sponges of the genus Plakortis. 1 and 2 These novel compounds have unprecedented structures which contain a tyramine unit and a fully substituted pyrrolidine ring system (Fig. 1).
