Abstract

Several new families of heterogeneous catalysts recently have been synthesized by intercalating metal ions and cationic metal complexes between the negatively charged layers of smectite clay A complementary class of layered compounds exist in which the charge on the layers and gallery ions is the reverse of that found for smectite clays.
