Abstract

Abstract Benzyltriphenyltriphenylphosphonium borohydride (BTPPB)(1) generated as white solid from benzyltriphenylphosphonium chloride and sodium borohydride is found to be a selective and versatile reducing agent. The reagent in methanol is very useful for reduction of imines, enamines and reductive amination of aldehydes.
