3648 NOTES Vol. ii of 6 A'hydrochloric acid and 500 g. of crushed ice. The mixture of solids (ie, 2, 2-diphenyl-4-methyl-1, 2-dihydroquinoline and 2-phenyl-4-methylquinoline hydrochloride) which precipitated was filtered and separated into its components in the following way.
