Abstract: Reaction of nitrones with equivalent quantities of aroyl chlorides in anhydrous dioxane containing triethylamine yields N, N-diacylamines. Treatment of nitrones with L80- labeled benzoyl chloride under these conditions forms N, N-diacylamines with the I8O label distributed equally between the two acyl groups.
