Abstract

Alcohols hold a central position in synthesis as they are easily converted to a multitude of functional groups through many rapid, facile transformations. One such transformation frequently employed is the oxidation of primary and secondary alcohols followed by coupling of the carbonyl [1] with a Wittig reagent.
