Abstract

The effects of meta and para substitutents upon the triplet (cyT) and singlet (as) efficiencies in the thermolysis of 3, 4-diaryl-3, 4-dimethyl-1, 2-dioxetanes 3, 3-aryl-3, 4, 4-trimethyl-1, 2- dioxetanes 4, and 3-aryl-3-(bromo-methyl)-4, 4-dimethyl-l, 2-dioxetanes 5 are reported. Triplet efficiencies for series 3 dioxetanes, where the two proketone moieties are identical, are sensitive to aryl substituent changes. Attempted correlation of log aT with Hammett- ...
