Abstract

Deracemization of (±)-3-phenyllactic acid () and (±)-2-hydroxy-4-phenylbutanoic acid () was accomplished by lipase-catalysed kinetic resolution coupled to biocatalytic racemization of the non-reacting substrate enantiomers using Lactobacillus paracasei DSM 20008.
