Abstract

An expedient Mn-catalyzed three-component synthesis of 1, 5-amino/keto alcohols from Grignard reagents, imines/nitriles, and tetrahydrofuran (THF) is described, which deviates from the classic Grignard addition to imines/nitriles in THF solvent.
