Abstract

The great therapeutic importance of luminal (ethylphenyl-barbituric acid) suggested to the writer, some time since, the preparation of the next higher homolog, ethylbenzyl-barbituric acid, the manufacture of which would be much simpler and cheaper than that of luminal.
