Abstract

Ethyl acetate is resistant to attack by nitrobenzenesulfonyl peroxides and is a suitable solvent for sulfonoxylations. In the thermal decomposition of o-and m-nitrobenzenesulfonyl peroxides in alkylbenzenes there are no products resulting from a side-chain hydrogen abstraction characteristic of a homolytic reaction.
