Abstract

In order to investigate the usefulness of monoethylene ketals as protective agents in 1, 3- dicarbony1 systems, and as part of a search for intermediates in the synthesis of substituted 2-azabicyclo [3.3. 1 Inonanes, the preparation and properties of the monoethylene ketal of 1, 3-cyclohexanedione (I) were studied.
