Abstract

The reaction of 1, 4-dibromoalkanes with o-substituted and o, o'-disubstituted anilines yielded only 1-arylpyrrolidines except in one case when a low yield of the substituted l, 4- diaminoalkane was obtained. Similarly, 2-(P-bromoethyl'i-abromotoluene gave only 2-aryl-1, 2, 3, 4-tetrahydroisoquinolines, while a, a'-dibromo-o-xylene gave principally 2- arylisoindolines together with small amounts of substituted a, a'-diamino-o-xylenes. 1, 3- ...
