Abstract

Hydroxylated styrenes (tyrphostins) undergo oxidation by hypervalent iodine oxidants such as [(diacetoxy) iodo] benzene (DAIB) to give a range of products depending on the structure of the phenolic substrate, the solvent, the oxidant stoichiometry, and the purification strategy.
