Methyl Paraben 是从云南铁杉 (Tsuga dumosa) 中分离出来对羟基苯甲酸的甲酯,是一种标准化的过敏原。Methyl Paraben 是一种稳定的、非挥发性的化合物,在食品、药品和化妆品中用作防腐剂。Methyl Paraben的生理作用是通过增加组胺释放、细胞调控免疫实现的。

在医药工业中用作药剂的防腐杀菌剂,也用于有机合成及食品、香料、胶片等的护腐添加剂。用类似的生产方法生产的同类产品对羟基苯甲酸乙酯(尼泊金乙)、对羟基苯甲酸丙酯(尼泊金丙),也都是消毒防腐药。该品对皮肤有刺激性。

1.由对羟基苯甲酸与甲醇酯化而得。将对羟基苯甲酸加入过量的甲醇中溶解,搅拌下缓缓加入浓硫酸。加热回流10h后倒入水中析出结晶,经水洗、碳酸钠溶液洗、水洗,得粗品。用水或25%乙醇重结晶而得成品。收率为85%。原料消耗(kg/t)对羟基苯甲酸 1200甲醇 1000
