【用途一】
本品可用于生产多种有机硅化合物，是生产六甲基二硅氮（胺）烷和六甲基二硅氧烷的主要原料。本品可制备烷基化剂，也可作为医药化工生产中的基团保护剂。

三甲基氯硅烷制备

1.氯甲烷与硅粉在氯化亚铜催化下一步直接合成，生成甲基氯硅烷混合物，经精馏提纯可得三甲基氯硅烷及其他单体。实验室制备可将四甲基硅烷与乙酰氯在三氯化铝存在下反应。

2.将粗品（或工业品）三甲基氯硅烷与三氯化铝、三溴化铝或氢氧化铁于60℃下，一起搅拌10min，然后蒸馏，可得纯净产物。

3.氯甲烷与硅粉在氯化亚铜催化剂存在下，于300～550℃以上高温一步合成，所得甲基氯硅烷混合物经精馏提纯得三甲基氯硅烷。

4.将17.5g的四甲基硅烷迅速加到冰盐浴冷却下的26.5g的精制三氯化铝中，搅拌下，滴加16ml乙酰氯。
乙酰氯的滴加速度以维持适当回流为佳，40min完成滴加过程，滴加结束后，搅拌反应1h，蒸馏可得20.8g三甲基氯硅烷。反应为：
