将氯乙酸与无水乙醇配成的溶液逐次加入乙醇钠-乙醇溶液中，加料毕，缓缓加热10min，然后用直接水蒸气蒸出过量乙醇，将水溶液冷却，加入浓盐酸，滤除氯化钠。滤液用乙醚提取，提取液蒸除乙醚后，进行减压蒸馏，收集109-111℃（2.27-2.40kPa）馏分，得乙氧基乙酸，收率74%。
