【用途一】
用作分析试剂、荧光指示剂及气相色谱固定液，也用于有机合成
【用途二】
是直接染料、酸性染料、冰染染料和分散染料等的中间体，也是橡胶防老剂、农药的原料
【用途三】
由1-萘胺生产的1-萘酚是农药甲萘威的重要中间体，1-萘胺也是杀鼠剂安妥的中间体，还是重要的染料中间体，可以生产很多染料。
【用途四】
该品是直接染料、酸性染料、冰染染料和分散染料等多种染料产品的中间体，也是多种橡胶防老剂的主要原料，由1-萘胺生产的1-萘酚是农药西维因的重要中间体。1-萘胺可经皮肤吸收，生成高铁血红蛋白，造成备液中毒，引起泌尿系统疾病；慢性中毒可引起膀胱癌。空气中最大溶许浓度为0.001mg/L。
【用途五】
荧光指示剂。检定锇、铷、钒、铬、铜、汞、铊和臭氧。亚硝酸试剂。钌、锇、钯的催化测定。气相色谱固定液(最高使用温度85℃，溶剂为丙酮)，选择性保留芳香族化合物，能分离环烷和链烷、对位和邻位二甲苯，但不能分离对二甲苯和乙苯。有机合成。

1.由1-硝基萘（见C10H7NO2，[86-57-7]）还原而得。原料消耗（kg/t）精萘 1116硝酸（96%） 561硫酸（92.5%） 312硫化碱（60%） 703硫磺（99%） 211

2.将相同物质量的硫化钠和硫黄加到90℃ 水中，制得浓度为4.3～4.4mol/l的二硫化钠溶液。然后数小时内分次少量加到事先热至100℃的硝基萘中，加完后，继续沸腾4.5h：

静置后，分去下层的硫代硫酸钠溶液，上层产物用55～65℃热水洗涤二次，在8.0kPa下蒸馏，收集得到的凝固点高于45.5℃的馏分倒入二甲苯中，使其成为松散结晶，过滤后离心甩干，再用二甲苯洗涤一次，干燥后，即为试剂1-萘胺。
