Kinetic Procedure. Five microliters of a solution of 2-naphthoyl azide in the appropriate solvent was added to a thermostated (25.0 OC) solution of the amine in the appropriate solvent. Approximately 3-4 mL of the mixture was transferred into 1-cm quartz cuvettes in a thermostated (25.0" C) compartment of a Gilford 252 spectrophotometer.
