A portion (1.0 g) of this oil was dissolved with AcnO (2 ml) in dry pyridine (7 ml). After 16 hr the mixture was poured into ice-water, and the resulting mixture was extracted with ether. The ether extract was dried over anhydrous MgSO~, filtered, and evaporated under reduced pressure to give an oil which slowly crystallized on standing.
