11 work in construction of the oxazolone ring at a late stage in the synthesis? & In addition, this approach would make possible the synthesis of benzo-substituted analogues not readily available via the published procedures, and would also allow preparation of 2-amino analogues of the parent antibiotic via the amine exchange reaction.
